Interested in becoming a SEV Habitat Homeowner?

After self checking your qualifications with those listed on the webpage, use this form to answer the self evaluation questions. Submitting this form will forward your responses to the Homeownership staff for further review.

Our housing staff will reply to you directly via email to discuss the next steps. These replies may take up to 2 weeks. Orientations, which signal our open application periods, are scheduled approximately every other month. When one is scheduled it will be added to the homeownership tab.

Being prepared means collecting the paperwork needed to apply prior to the orientation meeting. A list of those documents will be sent with the response from our homeownership team.

SEV Habitat home qualifications are based on:

Need: Substandard living conditions

Ability to pay an affordable mortgage

Willingness to partner and build their own home

Here is a simple checklist to get you started:

Must live or work in our service area for 1 year- New Smyrna Beach, Edgewater, Oak Hill, Samsula, Osteen.
You qualify as a first-time home buyer (have not owned a home in 3 years)
Have stable and verifiable income from a reliable source for a minimum of 1 year. See the graph on our website for current income requirements
Willing to complete a minimum of 350 sweat equity hours working with SEV Habitat volunteers.
Current housing is- inadequate, overcrowded, transitional, government subsidized, or unaffordable.
